The refractory material binder is to mix the refractory raw material and the binder to form a good combination to improve the mechanical strength and durability of the refractory material. The following is an introduction to several commonly used refractory binders.
1. Silicate binder: It is a gray-white powdery substance, mainly composed of sodium silicate, water glass and other raw materials, and has the advantages of low cost and high bonding strength. It is suitable for all kinds of hard, dense and high-density refractory materials, such as silica bricks, high alumina bricks, etc.
2. Phosphate binder: generally refers to phosphoric acid, tripolyphosphoric acid and polyphosphoric acid, etc. It has good bonding performance and hydration resistance, and has a good binding effect on materials such as high alumina and silicon carbide.
3. Polymer binder: including acrylate copolymer, epoxy resin, phenolic resin, etc., which can provide good bonding performance and mechanical strength, and are suitable for the preparation of various refractory materials.
4. Asphalt binder: It is mainly made of raw materials such as coal tar pitch and natural pitch, suitable for the preparation of refractory materials such as high alumina and silicate, and can provide good bonding performance and hydration resistance.
5. Cement binder: generally refers to ordinary portland cement and special cement with high refractoriness, which can provide good bonding strength and hydration resistance for various refractory materials.
These refractory binders have their own characteristics and should be selected according to actual needs when used. During use, the addition amount and mixing process should be reasonably controlled, and attention should be paid to the ratio and matching of the binder and the raw materials to achieve the best use effect and safety.
