One. What is a rotary kiln
1. Introduction to rotary kiln
Rotary kiln, also known as rotary kiln, is a common industrial equipment used for heat treatment and production of materials. The rotary kiln is mainly composed of cylinder body, supporting device, ring gear, lubricating device and other parts.
2. The working principle of the rotary kiln
the working principle of the rotary kiln is to put the material into the rotating cylinder, and carry out drying, calcination, roasting, reduction and other processes at high temperature, so as to realize the processing and modification of the material. During the rotation of the cylinder, the material will continue to move forward until it is discharged at the outlet, which ensures sufficient heat treatment of the material and prevents the accumulation and agglomeration of the material in the cylinder.
Rotary kilns are widely used in the production process of metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials, environmental protection and other fields, such as clinker rotary kiln in cement production, iron concentrate reduction rotary kiln in metallurgical industry, coking rotary kiln in chemical industry, etc. Due to its advantages such as easy operation, high production efficiency and wide application range, the rotary kiln has become one of the essential and important equipment in many industrial production processes.
Two. What are the refractory materials for rotary kiln
The rotary kiln is a high-temperature equipment that needs to be lined with special refractory materials to protect the cylinder from high temperature and thermal shock damage. The common refractory materials for rotary kiln mainly include the following categories:
1. Refractory brick
In the lining of rotary kiln, refractory bricks are widely used. Ordinary refractory bricks, magnesia-iron spinel bricks, magnesia-alumina spinel bricks, magnesia-chrome bricks, high-alumina bricks, silica-molybdenum bricks, and alumina silicate bricks can be selected according to the specific location requirements of the rotary kiln.
2. Refractory cement
Refractory cement can also be used as one of the materials for the lining of the rotary kiln. It usually refers to a high-temperature-resistant inorganic adhesive that can firmly fix other refractory materials on the cylinder.
3. Expanded mullite plate
Expanded mullite plate is also widely used in the inner lining of rotary kiln due to its light weight, low thermal conductivity and easy processing.
4. Synthetic fiber ceramics
Synthetic fiber ceramics can be used in a high temperature environment above 1300 °C, and are suitable for lining in high temperature areas of rotary kilns.
5. Silicon carbide ceramics
Silicon carbide ceramics have excellent high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, and can also be used for the lining of rotary kilns.
It should be noted that different types of rotary kilns have different requirements for refractory materials in the process of manufacture and use. Therefore, when selecting and applying refractory materials, comprehensive consideration should be made according to the specific situation, and relevant use and maintenance specifications should be followed to ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment.
