The technical requirements for refractory brick masonry are a series of standards and guidelines to ensure the stability, compactness and durability of refractory brick masonry. The following is a detailed introduction to the technical requirements for refractory brick masonry:

1. Masonry design

Before laying refractory bricks, reasonable masonry design should be carried out according to specific application scenarios and process requirements. This includes selecting the proper refractory brick type, size and shape, determining the correct masonry method and structural design.

2. Material selection

High-quality refractory bricks and refractory materials are selected to meet the specification requirements. High-quality refractory brick materials have stable chemical composition, suitable physical properties and durability, and can meet the required refractory performance and service environment requirements.

3. Check the weld seam before masonry

Before building the lining, it is necessary to carefully check whether the convexity of the welds in the kiln shell meets the welding technical requirements of the kiln shell, and the welds exceeding the specified limit should be ground with a portable grinding wheel.

4. Cleaning before masonry

Before masonry, the rotary kiln should be thoroughly cleaned, kept clean and dry, so that there is no ash, no embroidery, no oil stains and no water stains. Steel wire must be used to remove metal embroidery. Ensure a good combination between the refractory brick and the kiln shell.

5. Brick seam treatment

Pay attention to the gap treatment between bricks and bricks during masonry. In general, the width of the brick joints is controlled within the range of 2-5mm to ensure the tightness and stability of the masonry. During the masonry process, empty, loose or too wide brick joints should be avoided.

During the masonry process, the refractory bricks should be close to the kiln shell, and the refractory bricks should be close together. The brick joints are straight, the circles are accurate, the bricks are locked firmly, not in place, not sagging and empty.

The type of brick laying is circular staggered joints, the flat joints in the rotary kiln are not greater than 1mm, the circular joints of alkaline bricks are not greater than 3mm, and the high-alumina bricks are not greater than 1mm.

6. Adhesives and glue

Use proper adhesives and grouts during masonry to ensure a good bond between the refractory bricks and the base or other bricks. Select the appropriate type of adhesive and glue, and make the correct proportion and mix according to the process requirements to obtain good bond strength and stability.

7. Masonry method

Use proper masonry methods and tools to ensure accurate positioning and correct splicing of refractory bricks. Common masonry methods include dry masonry, wet masonry, and sealed masonry. Choose the appropriate method according to the specific situation, and pay attention to the control of key parameters such as verticality, levelness and alignment during the masonry process. To follow the site safety regulations, it is recommended to use the bricklaying machine first.

8. Preheating and drying

After the masonry is completed, a proper preheating and drying process should be carried out. This helps relieve internal stresses, increases the stability of the refractory bricks, and ensures that the entire masonry can withstand temperature changes and thermal shock when in use.

9. Quality inspection

After the masonry is completed, a quality inspection is carried out to verify the quality and conformity of the masonry. This may include brick joint inspections, dimensional measurements, fire performance testing and more to ensure masonry complies with relevant standards and codes.

10. Maintenance and maintenance

After completing the masonry of refractory bricks, regular maintenance and maintenance work should be carried out to prolong the service life of refractory bricks. This can include measures such as cleaning surface buildup, repairing brick joints, and preventing thermal shock and corrosion.
