From 2011 to 2020, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the supply-side structural reform of my country's steel, cement, glass and other industries has been further advanced, and more and higher service requirements have been put forward for the refractory industry. The refractory industry has made great efforts and has taken solid steps in high-quality development, helping the development of high-temperature industries such as steel. The industry's own development pattern and the entire industrial chain are also changing. Under the background of the current complex and ever-changing domestic and foreign economic situation and the impact of the new crown epidemic, while the industry is progressing, it has also accumulated many difficult problems to solve, highlighting the development bottleneck. up the challenge. In this article, we review the development achievements of the refractory industry from 2011 to 2020, especially during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and discuss the high-quality development of the industry in the next ten years.

1. Achievements of the refractory industry in the past ten years (1)

Since the reform and opening up, China's refractory materials have achieved leapfrog development. The annual output has grown rapidly from 3.8 million tons in 1980 to 25.43 million tons in 2010, ranking first in the world. China has become a major producer and consumer of refractory materials. Since 2010, the output of refractory materials in my country has been about 25.45 million tons, and the refractory material industry has entered a platform period of small increase in output and optimization of variety structure from a period of extensive rapid output growth. The refractory industry actively adapts to and serves the great development of high-temperature industries such as iron and steel, and promotes and realizes the fundamental transformation of my country's refractory industry. The self-sufficiency rate of refractory materials basically reaches 100%.

From 2011 to 2020, the consumption of refractory materials per ton of steel has been greatly reduced, from 26kg in 2011 to 14.0kg in 2020. This not only reflects the technological progress of the steel industry, but also reflects the progress of the overall level and service capabilities of the refractory industry.

The influence of my country's refractory industry in the world's refractory industry continues to increase. China has become the manufacturing center, consumption center and trade center of refractory materials in the world. In 2020, China's refractory production will be about 24.78 million tons, accounting for about 65% of the world's total; while the total output of the three refractory production areas in Europe, America, Japan, and India in the same period is only more than 7 million tons, which is far lower than China's output. The competitiveness of my country's refractory products in the international market is gradually increasing, and the market covers about 150 countries and regions such as Southeast Asia, North America, South America, the European Union, and Russia. It can be seen from the trend chart of the total amount of exported refractory products since 2011, although the export volume of refractory products has not changed much, ranging from 1.5 million to 2 million tons, the average export price has increased rapidly, indicating the structure of export products. in optimization.

To summarize the progress of the industry during 2011-2020, it is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1.1 Industry norms and development acceleration

Specification conditions are one of the important factors that will promote the progress of the refractory industry during the period 2011-2020. In 2014, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued "Several Opinions on Promoting the Healthy and Sustainable Development of the Refractory Industry" and "Standard Conditions for the Refractory Industry" (2014 version), which was the first time to regard refractory materials as an industry at the national level and promote the production line Standardize condition management. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued three batches of regulatory announcements for 136 production lines, including 14 refractory raw material production lines and 122 refractory product production lines, accounting for about 21.3% of the country's total refractory product production capacity. The implementation of the standard conditions of the refractory industry has effectively guided the healthy development of the industry.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the national level also successively announced the "Building Materials Industry Development Standards (2016-2020)", "Industrial Structure Adjustment Guidance Catalog (2019 Edition)", "Industrial Key Common Technology Development Guidelines (2017)", "Building Materials Industry Smart Manufacturing Digital Transformation Action Plan (2021-2023)" and other relevant policies at the national level. As an important supporting industry for high-temperature industry, refractory materials have become the consensus of government authorities and the industry for high-quality development. The local governments in the main refractory producing areas have also issued relevant documents and action plans for the refractory industry to guide local refractory enterprises to optimize their industrial structure, improve quality and efficiency, promote industrial transformation and upgrading, and accelerate the pace of mergers and reorganizations. The transition from high-speed development to high-quality development.

Since 2018, refractory companies and the governments of major refractory producing areas have conscientiously implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "cultivating a group of 'specialized, special and new' small and medium-sized enterprises and improving the innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises", and actively organized refractory enterprises to participate in the The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology cultivated the "Specialized, Specialized and New" activities, creating a group of "specialized, refined, characteristic, and innovative" small and medium-sized enterprises. As of the end of the first quarter of 2022, a total of 27 companies in the refractory industry have been rated as "specialized, special and new" enterprises, and ZHENJIN REFRACTORIES is one of the "specialized, special and new" enterprises. The "specialized, special and new" activities have also effectively promoted the progress of the refractory industry.

1.2 Technological progress and intelligent manufacturing

While the output and variety of refractory materials meet the high-speed growth of high-temperature industry, the manufacturing technology, equipment level and application technology level have been significantly improved, and the innovation ability of enterprises has also been further enhanced. The company has developed a number of key technologies and innovative achievements, gradually narrowing the gap between the overall technical level of refractory materials in my country and the international advanced level, and some of them have reached the international advanced level.

A number of high-level R&D platforms have begun to play a role in technological innovation. By the end of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", there were 8 academician workstations and 11 post-doctoral research and development bases established by my country's refractory companies, and 6 national-level enterprise technology centers recognized by five ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission. There are 6 enterprise technology centers at the national level, and 42 enterprise technology centers at the provincial level, 35 engineering research centers and engineering technology research centers at the provincial level. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the whole industry of refractory materials applied for 8,812 patents. Domestic universities and research institutions specializing in refractory materials have undertaken 81 national-level projects, won 70 provincial and ministerial awards, and published 367 SCI papers.

The advancement of refractory technology has also promoted the improvement of the industry's intelligent manufacturing level to a certain extent, and new breakthroughs have been made in the level of automation and intelligence. Focusing on the development strategic goal of "Made in China 2025", the refractory industry has increased the automation and intelligence of the manufacturing process during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and has achieved remarkable results. A number of smart factories and digital factory.

A group of key refractory companies in the industry, represented by ZHENJIN REFRACTORIES, have introduced intelligent manufacturing technology and automatic information technology into high-temperature material production lines and factory management links, and the level of intelligent manufacturing has been continuously improved, such as intelligent warehousing, AGV intelligent material vehicles, fully automatic Presses, palletizing robots, and online automatic testing equipment have been widely used in the industry, and the manufacturing level of the industry has been greatly improved.
