Thermal insulation refractory castable is also called light refractory castable. Thermal insulation refractory castable is mainly composed of light thermal insulation aggregate, added with refractory powder, together with bonding material and admixture. A kind of hydraulic amorphous thermal insulation material prepared by dry mixing, it has the characteristics of low bulk density, low thermal conductivity, high thermal insulation performance, and can be constructed and poured on site. It is also called lightweight thermal insulation castable. Widely used in boilers, industrial kilns and other equipment body thermal insulation engineering, mainly used for thermal insulation of kilns and to prevent the loss of heat sources.

Boiler insulation castables
Thermal insulation castables are divided into:
1. Low temperature lightweight castable: the operating temperature is 600℃-900℃
2. Lightweight castable at medium temperature: the operating temperature is 900℃-1200℃
3. High temperature lightweight castable: the operating temperature is >1200℃
Insulation castables are used for boiler linings, generally used as insulation linings, and the operating temperature is generally below 1000 °C. Thermal insulation castables are divided into semi-light castables (1.0-1.8 g/cm3), lightweight castables (0.4-1.0 g/cm3) and ultra-light castables (less than 0.4 g/cm3) according to bulk density. Lightweight castables with bulk densities of 0.8 and 1.0 are commonly used in castables, and lightweight castables with bulk density of 0.8 or 1.0 can also be used for boiler insulation castables.
The thermal insulation lining of boilers generally refers to the operating temperature and thermal conductivity, and then selects the appropriate bulk density of thermal insulation castables. The smaller the bulk density of thermal insulation castables, the smaller the thermal conductivity, and the better the thermal insulation performance. Insulation castables will be customized according to requirements during production. Insulation castables of different materials are applied to the insulation layers of boilers and high-temperature kilns at different temperatures.
