  The cement kiln preheater is an important equipment in the cement production process. It is used to preheat fuel and raw materials and provide high temperature gas for the cement kiln to burn. Due to the harsh conditions such as high temperature, corrosive gas and mechanical impact inside the preheater, there are certain requirements for refractory materials. The following are the main requirements for refractory materials for cement kiln preheaters:

  1. High temperature resistance is required: the internal temperature of the cement kiln preheater is usually above 1000°C, and can even reach about 1500°C in some areas. Therefore, refractory materials need to have good high temperature resistance and be able to withstand high temperature for a long time without serious softening, melting or deformation.

  2. Corrosion resistance is required: There are a lot of corrosive gases and dust particles inside the cement kiln preheater, such as SO2, NOx, alkali metals, etc. These substances can cause corrosion and erosion of refractory materials, reducing their service life. Refractory materials need to have high acid and alkali corrosion resistance and gas corrosion resistance to prolong life.

  3. Thermal shock stability is required: The cement kiln preheater will experience frequent temperature changes and thermal shock stress during use. Refractory materials need to have good thermal shock stability and be able to withstand the stress caused by rapid temperature rise and fall without severe cracking or spalling.

  4. Requirement of mechanical strength and wear resistance: Due to the impact and wear of granular materials inside the cement kiln preheater, refractory materials need to have certain mechanical strength and wear resistance. They should be able to resist impact and abrasion, maintain structural integrity, and avoid cracking or flaking of the surface.

  5. Good thermal conductivity is required: the cement kiln preheater needs to conduct high-temperature gas to the combustion area, so the refractory material needs to have good thermal conductivity to ensure the efficiency and uniformity of heat transfer.
