The lining of a cement kiln is mainly affected by factors such as high temperature, thermal shock, and alkalinity, so it needs to have certain fire resistance and corrosion resistance. As a high-performance refractory material, magnesia-iron bricks are used in cement kilns, which can protect the cement kiln skin very well. In addition, magnesia-iron bricks are alkaline refractory materials, which have good resistance to alkali erosion capacity, improving the service life of the cement kiln lining. The following is an introduction to the role of magnesia-iron bricks in cement kilns.

1. Fire resistance

Magnesia iron brick is a kind of high temperature refractory material, its refractory temperature can reach about 1700 ℃, and it can be used stably for a long time in the high temperature environment of cement kiln.

2. Corrosion resistance

There are a lot of alkaline substances in cement production, which will cause serious corrosion to the lining materials of the kiln. Magnesia-iron bricks have good resistance to alkali corrosion and acid corrosion, which can effectively prolong the service life of the inner lining.

3. Thermal shock stability

In the production of cement kilns, there will be sharp temperature changes. For example, the temperature difference between the kiln head and the kiln tail is relatively large, which requires the lining material to have good thermal shock stability. Magnesia-iron bricks have a low coefficient of thermal expansion and can remain stable under sharp temperature changes.

4. Good mechanical strength and wear resistance

Magnesia-iron bricks have high hardness and density, and the surface is smooth, so they are not easy to wear, which can increase the service life of lining materials and reduce maintenance costs.

magnesia iron bricks

In conclusion, magnesia-iron bricks for cement kilns are a better choice because of their good fire resistance, erosion resistance, thermal shock stability and wear resistance. Of course, the specific selection should be made according to different process conditions and production requirements, and combined with other factors such as price for comprehensive consideration.
