Both corundum bricks and high alumina bricks are common refractory materials, but they have certain differences in composition, structure and application. The following is a detailed introduction to the difference between corundum bricks and high alumina bricks.
1. The difference in ingredients
High alumina brick are mainly composed of alumina, mixed with a small amount of other oxides; while corundum bricks are made of a large amount of raw materials such as alumina and silica. Therefore, corundum bricks have higher alumina content, while high alumina brick have relatively lower alumina content.
2. The difference in structure
The sintered crystal structure of high alumina bricks is mainly corundum, and sometimes contains a small amount of whisker-like alumina; while the crystal structure of corundum bricks is composed of α-Al2O3 and part of corundum. Therefore, structurally speaking, corundum bricks are denser and harder than high alumina bricks.
3. Differences in applications
Due to the difference in composition and structure, there are also differences in the application of corundum bricks and high alumina bricks. Generally speaking, corundum bricks have higher wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and have better performance in harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, strong acid, strong alkali, etc., so they are often used in glass, steel, non-metal and other industrial fields; High alumina bricks are mainly used in metallurgy, refractory and other industries, and their excellent high temperature resistance makes them widely used in various high temperature kilns.

It should be noted that although the composition and application of corundum bricks and high alumina bricks are different, their physical and chemical properties are excellent. Before use, appropriate materials should be selected according to the actual situation, and they should be used and maintained in accordance with relevant regulations and standards. .
