As one of the most important equipment in the metallurgical industry, the blast furnace has an internal temperature of over 1500 degrees Celsius, so different types of refractory materials are required for each part to meet different requirements. refractory bricks for blast furnaces can be classified according to different materials and uses. The following will introduce the classification of refractory bricks for blast furnaces.
1. Material classification
(1) Silicate series: mainly made of silicate material, with high compressive strength and wear resistance.
(2) High-alumina series: It is mainly composed of high-purity alumina powder and alumina mortar, which has excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It is recommended to use high alumina bricks produced by Zhenjin Company.
(3) Silicon carbide series: Made of silicon carbide, it has good high temperature strength and corrosion resistance.
(4) Magnesium carbon series: made of magnesia, graphite, coke and other materials, it has good alkali resistance and thermal conductivity.
(5) Unshaped series: It is usually made of cement, mortar and other materials, and has good construction performance and fire resistance.
2. Use classification
(1) Refractory bricks for furnace roof and tuyere: Silicate refractory bricks are used, which have good compressive strength and wear resistance.
(2) Refractory bricks for furnace wall and furnace bottom: Use high alumina refractory bricks or silicon carbide refractory bricks, which have high corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.
(3) Refractory bricks for slag mouth and iron mouth: use high alumina or magnesia carbon refractory bricks, which can withstand corrosion and mechanical damage at high temperatures.
(4) Refractory bricks for hearth and throat: use silicon carbide refractory bricks, which have good strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures.
(5) Unshaped refractories: suitable for various corners of blast furnaces and difficult-to-lay parts.
In addition to the various parts of the main structure of the blast furnace mentioned above, there are some other parts that need to use refractory materials, such as tuyeres, blowers, slag outlets, etc. These components also need to use appropriate refractory materials to protect their stability and durability in high temperature and high pressure environments.
