Since the rotary kiln is a high-temperature dynamic kiln, it has higher requirements for the masonry of refractory materials.
Before building the lining, it is necessary to carefully check whether the convexity of the welds in the kiln shell meets the welding technical requirements of the kiln shell, and the welds exceeding the specified limit should be ground with a portable grinding wheel. Before masonry, the rotary kiln should be thoroughly cleaned, kept clean and dry, so that there is no ash, no embroidery, no oil stains and no water stains. Steel wire must be used to remove metal embroidery. Ensure a good combination between the refractory brick and the kiln shell.
During the masonry process, the refractory bricks should be close to the kiln shell, and the refractory bricks should be close together. The brick joints are straight, the circles are accurate, the bricks are locked firmly, not in place, not sagging and empty.
On the premise that the bottom surface of the bricks is close to the cylinder, ensure that the sides of the bricks can be close to each other, that is, the so-called "four corners of the refractory bricks touch the ground" (the four corners of the refractory bricks are in contact with the kiln cylinder), and "100% surface contact between the refractory bricks" ". Make sure that all extension lines of brick joints converge on the axis of the kiln shell. It is not allowed to appear "the four corners do not touch the ground" or the oblique phenomenon that the refractory brick joints are not gathered together, nor does it allow the opening phenomenon that the adjacent refractory bricks do not have 100% surface contact, and the big and small ends of the refractory bricks are not tightly closed. This phenomenon of "four corners not touching the ground" and opening mouth is prone to loosening of refractory bricks during operation, and gradually evolves into drooping and emptying, until the core is pulled and the bricks are dropped.
In order to ensure that the refractory bricks are tightly connected to the kiln shell and that there is no gap between the refractory bricks, it is recommended to use ISO and VDZ standard bricks. Make the curvature of the arc made of refractory bricks conform to the curvature of the kiln shell as much as possible to improve the quality of masonry.
Since the refractory bricks may have a slight rotation of the whole ring relative to the cylinder, when the refractory bricks are built, the vertical brick joints are allowed to be staggered, but the circumferential brick joints are never allowed to appear, so as to avoid circumferential rotation. When tending, the protruding part of the refractory brick will be cut off. In order to ensure that there are no circumferential staggered joints, on the premise of ensuring that the external dimensions of the bricks meet the national or industry standards, it is also necessary to carefully select and match refractory bricks and properly fill refractory mud to adjust.
