During the operation of the kiln, sometimes the refractory material falls off, but this is not because the quality of the refractory material is poor, but in many cases it is because the construction did not follow the formal procedures.

       The most common situation is that when the construction personnel pour the irregular parts in the kiln, the particles of the castable are segregated due to the limitation of the parts; another common situation is that the anchors are not installed firmly, and the anchors are not installed when the kiln is running. Detach from the roots, causing the castable to fall off.

       In the face of refractory castable falling off, there are the following methods.

       First check the size of the shedding part of the refractory castable. If the shedding area is not large, you can choose to use ramming material or plastic for repair; but if the area of ​​​​the shedding location is relatively large, it is necessary to first beat it near the shedding location. , knock out all loose refractory castables around, and then repair with new refractory castables.

       However, this is a palliative approach. In order to prevent the refractory material from falling off, the most important thing is to pay attention to the installation details during the first construction, so as to effectively prevent the refractory material from falling off and prolong the service life of the refractory material.

      So, what are the main installation details worth noting?

      1. When selecting anchors and electrodes, the same material as the steel plate of the furnace equipment should be selected, so as to avoid cracking of the solder joints due to different expansions.

      In addition, try to use a single anchor with as many solder joints as possible or increase the length of the solder joints to improve the welding firmness. The "Y"-shaped anchors can be replaced with "L" shapes, and even the "L" shapes can be crossed into "X" shapes for welding, which can also increase the anchoring ability when the refractory castable is thin and prevent it from falling off. .

       2. For the parts with severe wear, we generally choose to use corundum refractory castables, but the thermal shock resistance in corundum castables is weak. Grinding the castable will extend its life more effectively.

       3. Of course, no matter how good the quality of the refractory castable is, the construction must follow the formal operation process, and the construction should be carried out according to the furnace, site conditions and the corresponding construction environment, in order to effectively exert the true protection ability of the refractory material.

       4. The oven is the last process of the refractory castable, and it is also the key to the operation of various furnaces. Therefore, when the refractory castable is maintained and baked, it is necessary to strictly control the time and temperature to ensure better performance of the refractory castable. .
