Silica brick is a common refractory material with high compressive strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It is usually used in high temperature equipment insulation and furnace components in metallurgy, glass, ceramics and other industries. The manufacturing process of silica bricks usually includes the following steps:
1.Raw material preparation
The main raw material of silica bricks is siliceous substances, such as silica, wollastonite and so on. These raw materials need to be screened, ground, mixed, etc. to achieve the required particle size and ratio.
2.Molding
Mix the treated raw materials with a certain amount of binder evenly, and then shape them by pressing, extrusion, molding, vacuum forming, etc. Different molding methods will affect the density, compressive strength and dimensional accuracy of silica bricks.
3.Drying
The formed silica bricks need to be dried to eliminate moisture and binder residues. During the drying process, temperature and humidity need to be controlled to avoid problems such as cracks and deformation of the brick body.
4.Sintering
The dried silica bricks need to be sintered at high temperature to improve their physical and chemical stability. The sintering temperature is usually above 1650°C, and the time is about 8 hours. The sintered silica brick will form a certain crystal structure and microscopic pores, and these characteristics will have a certain impact on its compressive strength, thermal conductivity, erosion resistance and other indicators.
5.Inspection and packaging
The manufactured silica bricks need to be inspected for quality, and then packaged and stored after passing the test. When they are ready to be used, they will be cut, sawed, punched, etc. according to different needs.
The above is the main manufacturing process of silica bricks, in which the parameters and control conditions of each link are also very important, which have a key impact on the quality and performance of silica bricks.
